A unique offering among the big streaming music services, Duo sits between Spotify’s $10-a-month individual Premium plan and its $15/month Premium Family tier, which lets up to six family members stream ad-free Spotify tunes.
Last summer, Spotify debuted another paid tier, Spotify Duo, which allows two people in the same household to stream unlimited ad-free tunes for $13 a month. Spotify hasn’t revealed how much the new Spotify HiFi plan will cost, but during a test of CD-quality streaming back in 2017, the company charged an additional $7.50 per month on top of the usual $10 per month fee for individual Premium users.
It’s heartening to hear that Spotify isn’t clipping the casting feature from its ad-supported Spotify Free tier, particularly given Spotify’s recent moves to expand its paid offerings.Įarlier this week, Spotify unveiled Spotify HiFi, a tier that will deliver lossless, CD-quality streams later this year.
